What is a showcase?

Showcases are live performances that are produced and promoted by APAP attendees.

Some performances happen at the same hotel as the APAP conference, but many showcases occur at other venues across New York City during the conference.

APAP does not produce, curate, or jury showcases.

How do I attend a showcase?

Once you are registered for the conference, download the conference app (Coming Fall 2026!) to view the official APAP showcase listings. Most showcases are free and only available for registered conference attendees.

Produce a showcase

Who showcases?

Artists, agents, and producers put on hundreds of showcases as part of the APAP|NYC conference.

To produce a showcase, you must be:

  1. An APAP member (or an artist on the roster of an APAP member)
  2. Registered for the conference

Note: Student registrants are not eligible to showcase.

Should I showcase?

Here are factors for you to consider when deciding to showcase. You should have:

  • Work that has high artistic integrity
  • A budget and plan to cover your expenses
  • A network of presenters who are interested in your work
  • Managerial and administrative capacity to solicit and follow up with presenters

How do I choose a venue?

There are two categories of venues for you to choose:

  1. Conference Hotel
Purchase a showcase slot in the Hilton from an independent APAP showcase producer. If you are interested in showcasing at the Hilton, email apapnyc@apap365.org.

  2. Venues throughout New York City

Book your own venue outside of the Hilton. Showcase producers are responsible for coordinating performance times and logistics directly with the venue.

Use this showcase venue guide to contact outside venues and plan your showcase. This information is subject to change and should be verified with each venue.

Please reference the Accessibility Checklist for APAP|NYC Showcase Producers while choosing your venue so you can maximize accessibility for audiences and performers.

Promote your showcase

Once you have planned your showcase, consider these ways to drive audiences to your event.

Showcase listings

Showcase listings can be added during registration for $10 each and are one of the most effective ways to promote your performance.

Listings appear in the APAP|NYC app (Coming Fall 2026!) and include key details such as the artist, date, time, location, and RSVP information for in-person showcases.

Sponsorship

Stand out from the crowd and maximize your visibility with one of our sponsorship opportunities.

Leverage the conference attendee lists

Once you have registered for conference, you'll have access to segmented lists of APAP|NYC registrants. These dynamically updated lists contain valuable information including each attendee's role in the field. Be sure to use these lists wisely by targeting people likely to be interested in your showcase.

Please don't indiscriminately blast all attendees!

Attendee lists will be available to conference registrants starting September 2026.
